MY Y FACTORS: “For me, ALL the Y factors are equally important and each offers an important element of travel. When we travel we encounter different people and experiences and so we can relate to all the various Y factors.”

Y WISDOM: “Always keep an open mind, and remember that sometimes unanticipated (and occasionally frustrating) events or delays can happen while travelling, but often these ‘disruptions’ can lead us to discover something totally fortuitous and unexpected! Just be patient and go with the flow…”

Y WISHLIST: “Keeping with the Y Factor of The Unexpected, I am keeping an open mind to any amazing travel possibilities that might come my way.  There are cities around the world that I love and would always be happy for the opportunity to return to, but I also love the idea of being surprised by experiencing new destinations or adventures that weren’t previously on my radar.”

Travelling to Italy with her family as a child, Pina Azzaro’s mind was opened up to the rich history, architecture, and culture of her ancestral homeland, and set in motion a life spent exploring destinations she could never have dreamt of visiting, such as Colombia, Malawi, Egypt and Argentina.

Whilst not shying away from enjoying luxurious travel experiences, Pina has found that her personal highlights in many years of globetrotting have come from the freedom of being open to venturing into the unknown, and coming back to the simple pleasures (such as an outdoor shower made of tin in Malawi, looking up to an incredible starry night sky) to remind you of who you really are in the grand scheme of the universe, and in doing so, creating the freedom to be your most genuine self.

Pina has worked in the travel industry for over thirty years, and brings to Y Travel decades of experience in building amazing itineraries for her clients, combining both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ skills of patience, logistics, personal and professional travel knowledge, and most importantly, a huge passion for what she does.  Nothing brings Pina as much joy as seeing her clients get inspired and excited for the journeys she has created for them, and enthusiastically hearing their amazing stories upon their return.
